This Cookie Policy explains how the Strandweave website at strandweave.app uses cookies and similar tracking technologies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website operator. Similar technologies — such as local storage — can serve comparable purposes.

2. Your analytics choice

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate website usage — for example, which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site.

Analytics are optional. When you first visit the site, a consent banner asks whether you want to enable analytics. Google Analytics is only loaded if you explicitly press Accept analytics. If you press Decline, no GA4 script is loaded and no Google Analytics cookies are set.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sw-analytics-consent. It is not transmitted to any server.

3. Changing your analytics preference

You can change or reset your analytics choice at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the site footer. This reopens the consent banner. Selecting Decline removes GA4 from your session; any GA4 cookies already set can be cleared in your browser settings (see below).

4. Analytics cookies set (only if accepted)

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies including _ga and _ga_* to help understand aggregate website usage. These cookies may persist for up to 2 years unless deleted earlier.

GA4 is configured with anonymize_ip: true. IP addresses are anonymised before any data reaches Google's servers. Analytics data is aggregate and does not identify individuals.

GA4 does not have access to any recordings, transcripts, imported audio files, app session data, support email attachments, or payment details. Those are handled entirely separately (see the Privacy Policy).

5. EmailOctopus (mailing list)

The mailing list signup form on this website is provided by EmailOctopus. When the signup form loads, it may load resources from EmailOctopus's servers (eomail5.com) and EmailOctopus may set cookies or otherwise process data in connection with the form. EmailOctopus's data practices are governed by their own privacy and cookie policy, not this one. See EmailOctopus's privacy policy for details.

6. Cloudflare (infrastructure)

Our web hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may process your request at the network level, including reading and setting security cookies necessary to operate its network. These are outside our direct control and are present regardless of your analytics choice. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

7. The Lemon Squeezy store

The Strandweave store is hosted at store.strandweave.app and is operated by Lemon Squeezy. When you visit the store or complete a purchase, Lemon Squeezy may set cookies necessary for processing your payment, preventing fraud and managing your checkout session.

The Lemon Squeezy store is a separate website from strandweave.app. Cookies set there are governed by Lemon Squeezy's privacy and cookie policy , not this one.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Your browser's help documentation explains how to do this. Note that clearing cookies will also remove your analytics preference from local storage, meaning the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
