This Cookie Policy explains how the Strandweave website at strandweave.app uses cookies and similar tracking technologies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website operator. Similar technologies — such as local storage — can serve comparable purposes.

2. Your analytics choice

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate website usage — for example, which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site.

Analytics are optional. When you first visit the site, a consent banner asks whether you want to enable analytics. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are only loaded if you explicitly press Accept analytics. If you press Decline, no Google analytics script or iframe is loaded, no analytics request is sent to Google, and no Google Analytics cookies are set.

Google Tag Manager is the site's sole analytics loader. It is injected asynchronously after acceptance and is not present before you consent. Strandweave does not use this site for advertising or ad personalisation.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sw-analytics-consent. It is not transmitted to any server.

3. Changing your analytics preference

You can change or reset your analytics choice at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the site footer. This reopens the consent banner. Selecting Decline clears first-party GA4 cookies that the site can access and reloads the page without Google Tag Manager. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings (see below).

4. Analytics cookies set (only if accepted)

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies including _ga and _ga_* to help understand aggregate website usage. These cookies may persist for up to 2 years unless deleted earlier.

We use GA4 for aggregate website measurement rather than to identify individual visitors. Consented website events may include allow-listed, sanitised campaign fields from utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content, plus a coarse referring hostname and landing path. We do not send arbitrary query strings or full referrer URLs as analytics metadata. Google may process technical request information when analytics are enabled, in accordance with Google's terms and privacy policy.

If analytics have been accepted, the site may keep those small campaign values in browser sessionStorage for the current browser session so download and beta application events can be attributed to the same broad campaign. This is not written before analytics consent and is removed when the browser session ends or site data is cleared.

GA4 does not have access to any recordings, transcripts, imported audio files, app session data, support email attachments, or payment details. Those are handled entirely separately (see the Privacy Policy).

5. EmailOctopus (mailing list)

The mailing-list form is an EmailOctopus embed. Its script may load when the mailing-list section approaches your browser viewport, before you submit the form. When you submit, your browser sends the form data to EmailOctopus's servers (including eomail5.com). EmailOctopus may set cookies or use similar storage in connection with the form. Google reCAPTCHA security

The EmailOctopus embed uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect the signup form from spam, fraud and automated abuse. When it loads, your browser may contact Google and send an IP address, user agent, browser and device information, interactions and security signals. Google may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie and other security storage. Google controls the precise duration of that storage.

We use this technology only as security necessary to provide and protect the mailing-list signup service. It is separate from GA4, is not used by Strandweave for advertising or audience measurement, and may load regardless of your analytics choice. If you do not want the EmailOctopus and reCAPTCHA embed to load, avoid opening or scrolling to the mailing-list section and contact us directly instead. See Google's reCAPTCHA FAQ for details.

6. Cloudflare (infrastructure)

Our web hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may process your request at the network level, including reading and setting security cookies necessary to operate its network. These are outside our direct control and are present regardless of your analytics choice. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

7. The Lemon Squeezy store

The Strandweave store is hosted at store.strandweave.app and is operated by Lemon Squeezy. When you visit the store or complete a purchase, Lemon Squeezy may set cookies necessary for processing your payment, preventing fraud and managing your checkout session.

The Lemon Squeezy store is a separate website from strandweave.app. Cookies set there are governed by Lemon Squeezy's privacy and cookie policy , not this one.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Your browser's help documentation explains how to do this. Clearing all site data, including local storage, will remove your saved analytics preference and the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
