Common questions

How does Strandweave record without joining the call?
Strandweave records from your Mac's microphone — your own voice and any audio audible to you during the call. It does not join your call as a participant, so no bot appears in the participant list.
Can I transcribe recordings I already have?
Yes. Use Import Audio to bring in an existing M4A, WAV, MP3, AAC, AIFF, CAF, MOV or MP4 file. Strandweave will create a session and run local transcription on it.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Recordings, transcripts and session data are stored locally on your Mac. Transcription runs offline on your device using the bundled Whisper runtime. Nothing is transmitted to any server.
What are the system requirements?
